Colleague from our Mississauga office Vivian Chen is helping our campaign.

The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill was donated by Vivian’s daughter Alison Chen. I am so glad to have more young people to participate in this event to promote reading.

Another good one – Silverfin by Charlie Higson was donated by Vivian’s son, Edward Chen. Let’s hear his introduction.

And there is another one from Vivian’s other daughter Jacqueline Chen.

What a lovely and noble family !

“The Outsiders by S E Hinton was a novel I was assigned and essentially forced to read in middle school. Except it never felt like homework. The story, first published in 1967, is about two rival groups, the low class Greasers, and the well-off Socs (short for socials). Behind the teen gang violence and other seriously delinquent behaviour, is a story of true friendship that is so timeless and compelling. I would highly recommend this novel to anybody, preteen or adult. “
